Formula One Group Chief Executive Bernie Ecclestone’s Mother-in-law has been kidnapped in Brazil. Let’s hope that this doesn’t become too common during the olympics.

The outspoken, gregarious Maurizio Arrivabene would like us to cool off and give him some space. Arrivabene has been a breath of fresh air this year, emotionally wearing his heart on his sleeve like Eddie Jordan and Favio Briatore used to. Let’s hope that the buttoned down, conservative style of F1 right now doesn’t dampen that.

Alonso and Button are both optimistic about 2017 rule changes. If the rule changes produce faster cars through less design restriction it will be a step in the right direction. Now how about those radio rules?
